Carsten Baeck is one of Germany’s leading experts in information security and counter-surveillance, with a strong background in operational risk management.
He served seven years with the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) before co-founding the executive protection unit of what was then the MG Group. He went on to become an authorized officer and later managing director of the security divisions at Brink’s Inc., Gegenbauer, and Piepenbrock. His career also includes roles at Control Risks in Berlin and London, as well as Head of Security for the ILA Berlin Air Show.
Carsten Baeck, a graduate in Business Administration (VWA), thinks and acts with an entrepreneurial mindset – especially in his role as Managing Partner of DRB Deutsche Risikoberatung GmbH. For over two decades, he has been deeply engaged in industry associations: as Vice President of the Berlin-Brandenburg Association for Security in Business and as a member of the federal board of the Alliance for Security in Business (ASW). In this role, he regularly exchanges with national security authorities. He is also co-author of the ASW guideline on counter-surveillance and heads the organization’s Competence Center.
