Dr. Göres is a founding partner of the law firm GÖRES and CEO of TURN Advisory GmbH. As a lawyer, he advises financial institutions, FinTechs and corporates on capital markets law, governance, non-financial risk, ESG, anti-money laundering, financial crime, compliance, cyber and cryptocurrencies. His key areas of expertise include MiFID II, the 5th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive and sanctions law. He regularly trains executive and supervisory board members.
He is the program director of the Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) at Frankfurt School, a lecturer in the excellence program for supervisory boards, a board member of “Geldwäsche & Recht” and co-founder of AFCA.
Previously, he held senior positions at HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Erste Bank Group, Commerzbank and WestLB. After completing his studies, he served as managing director of research at the University of Münster and headed the university’s Institute for Insurance Studies.
